Was this rushed into production?

It wasn't bad. It had some good moments, but I feel like Amazon offered Woody a lot of money to do the show in a short amount of time, so he rushed through the writing process (maybe it was an idea he'd had for a few years), and didn't develop it as well as he would have, had he more time.

I wouldn't mind seeing him try another series, but with more time to do it justice.

I don't know, but if you have seen the documentary on Woody you know how he works. He has a box with notes on small pieces of paper. He writes down brief ideas when he thinks of them. Ever so often he will sift through the notes and see if one can give him enough inspiration for his next movie.

Writing a story and script for Amazon is quite different, I suspect he didn't feel as comfortable working in that manner and that is why the effort came off "so-so".
