Miley's Dialogue, Not Miley Herself, Ruined This

Or added to it. She said all these things that most... people in Hollywood believed and still do, and she's hardly argued with. The whole Grumpy Old Guy and Idealistic hippie was done well in All in the Family since they disagreed. Woody's character was a Jewish liberal and Miley, to him, is a pest and an albatross, even an antagonist, kind of, but she spouts all these words at him and he just kinda stands there, shaking nervously, and has no one-liners, no put-downs, really... Kinda didn't make sense, and as for her acting... She's just as annoying as the character she portrays... Those who read a lot and know little but speak like they've lived everything...

You nailed the character!

I did like the series, but yes, it would have been nice if at some point Sidney had her on the ropes or surprised her or maybe put her in her place a bit.

The problem Woody's character had was, as much as he hated her, he was his usual bumbling self who can't stand up to people. And seriously, I thought their interactions were often hilarious.

Yeah, a combination of spinelessness and general obliviousness that he did/does so well made him hilarious and those interactions priceless. "I command it! I command it!" Even though that's a re-tread of "I forbid it!" from Manhattan Murder Mystery, I still howled like a monkey.
