Ian Fleming was a Commander in British Naval Intelligence and likely visited Camp X as an observer. The story goes that he was asked to shoot at a man as part of a training exercise, but couldn't go through with it. (Maybe he didn't have a license to kill!)This may or may not be a true story. He certainly would have picked up some added knowledge about training at the camp. Check out the spy camp in Dr. No. James Bond was the man of action Fleming wished he could be.
Major Paul Dehn was a lead instructor at the camp and author of the spy training manual. Agents were to be inconspicuous, average in looks and dress and avoid drink and women, sorry undercover 007. Dehn and Fleming later worked together on the screenplay for Goldfinger. Dehn also penned the screenplays for The Spy Who Came in From the Cold and Murder on the Orient Express. Famous author Roald Dahl was also at the camp.
The writers have said that Fleming will not be in the first season, maybe they could work him in later. The emphasis seems to be on the agents in Occupied France rather than their training at Camp X.
