Camp X was for training, not operations control. Correct?

Graduates of the program were dropped into occupied Europe to spy and sabotage.

It's not likely they'd be extracted at the end of every episode.

Yes. In reality recruits were trained at Camp X and sent off to SOE "finishing schools" in England before being dropped into France. And would usually not be extracted.

That is just some of the 'dramatic license' taken with the show esp in the early eps establishing team, locales, etc. They don't go home at the end of EVERY episode.

CSI teams don't really solve crimes and in RL cops dress badly.

In any show like this there's a tiny audience that freaks out over such things, and a much larger audience that just doesn't care. The majority of people watching have never heard of Camp X or the role it played in espionage in WWII, and having done several of these projects before -- the boon is that once you know the fictional part, there's a wealth of books and info you can dive deeper into if you want the real story. Actually on CampX there's not nearly enough of it, but that's the idea. There will be several other storylines that recall and are "based on" incidents from WWII history, but are meant to be "inspired by" rather than a direct telling. The show's not a docudrama.

And that's the final word I'll say on the facto/fiction thing..it's really, really boring to my mind (and to 98% of people viewing).

Your mileage, of course, may vary, and absolutely it's just fine if it does.

Cheers.
