Will this air in the US
?
shareI don't know if it will. However, if you want to watch it, wait for it to be released on DVD or use an anti-geoblocking plugin for your browser to stream the show on CBC's website (http://www.cbc.ca).
shareI'm in the states and had to download them using a torrent. The cbc.ca website won't let us view the show. I'm glad I downloaded them. Great show.
shareMe too. I'm surprised by how few of my techy friends/family do not use torrentz to watch shows. (btw...my hubby is the tech guru in our household, I'm lucky to be married to him) I have just finished watching S01 and am excited to start on S02. Another great show was Deutschland 83, not available on US channels.
shareI'm a blu-ray guy myself so when it is released I am so buying it.. I think Canada should be proud of this show and I wonder what other good shows they have there we don't get the pleasure of watching here in the lower 48..as another said I have to torrent it or watch thru XBMC/KODI and I feel a bit bad by that, so I will definitely buy when it becomes available. I have 2 questions for whomever reads this and perhaps to the person above:
1-Was there any bonus features/commentary/etc on the dvd set?
2-and I like shows like this and sci-fi and shows that you can't categorize easily(like LOST etc) so are there any good shows like those 2 genres that were aired in Canada but we down here haven't had the pleasure?

Personally, I've found Motive unwatchable as the usual uninspired cookie-cutter mainstream fare, with cardboard characters, clunky dialogue and clichés abounding. Somebody had to say it! Yet millions watch. Well, to each their own, live and let live.

I agree that Motive is better than CSI. At the same time, to make that point is to damn with faint praise. Motive treats its audience as a slightly more demanding bunch than CSI treats its audience.
Rather than rely on clunky dialogue alone - and it has plenty of that, since its characters are thinly conceived - Motive tells the audience what to think and feel in every moment by overt visuals (not to mention score). That's one source of the abounding clichés; another is from character: compared to CSI, the characters in Motive are like cardboard to paper.
Having said that, while I find Motive (or CSI) unwatchable I don't begrudge anyone enjoying it. I have my favourite dumb TV shows too, my indulgences. I know they're dumb; that's part of the enjoyment of such things. They don't capture my imagination for longer than it takes to watch them. They're not meant to. That's why I say to each their own.
Edited to add: I note the Cdn. broadcaster has canceled it with upcoming S4 to be the last. NBC backed out as co-broadcaster leaving CTV to pay the bills for S4.

if Listener, Saving Hope, Rookie Blue and Flashpoint are any indication... look for Motive to show up on ION in a year or 2
Heartland, Murdoch Mysteries and Republic of Doyle have had at least short lived Syndication runs... with Heartland also seeing a lengthy and current run on a third Tier Cable channel
so there is hope
FWIW I remember a you-tube video that showed a 'button code' that would apparently 'jailbreak' the Region restriction on most DVD players... I've not seen it tested in recent memory so the effectiveness is debatable
