Lip Sync Battle = Geico Cavemen

Let me start out by saying I am a huge fan of Lip Sync battle on the Tonight Show. I find the performances hilarious and I thoroughly look forward to them. But this whole show feels like when they decided to take a the Geico Cavemen commercials and turn them into a sitcom. The concept is good, but when you have to add in a bunch of filler and over the top antics, it becomes tired and it loses its novelty.

I'll probably watch highlights of this show on Youtube, but the whole "how they prepared bit" and the "choreographed background dancers" to me kills the fun that comes from the truly spontaneous lip sync competition on the Tonight Show.

They should have just filmed a bunch of lip sync battles across several Tonight Show tapings and edited them together to make episodes. It would've been way better and more cost effective doing it that way. Instead they tried to make it so in ur face and OTT that it loses the charm of what made those segments so great in the first place.

They should lose Chrissy, no real use for her. They also should lose the prepared 'filler'.... pre-taped segment, as you suggested. When John & Jimmy first performed on The Tonight Show, they used three songs, not two. Perhaps if they lost the pre-taped part and the useless Chrissy comments they could whittle the episode to add one more song (or one part of a song, each).
