Why is my DVR recording these reruns?

Very annoying. I have it set to only record new shows yet it's recording every show. My cable company says it's beyond their control so I'd guess Spike is somehow marking them as new, trying to get us to watch the show more, but it's really turning me off. Also annoying are the pop-up shows which are reruns but with silly pop-up comments added.

I find myself growing weary of this show. It was fun at first, but there's SO much damn hype and cheering, it's ridiculous. The Ben Kingsley vs. John Cho was also just boring; neither did much but mouth the words and were very uncreative, yet the crowd kept going crazy. May stop recording & watching this show, I fear its day has come and gone.

The ones with the pop-ups are marked as new even though they are reruns. So that's why they're recording. My DVR does it too.

Anyway I agree with you about the Cho/Kingsley episode. Definitely one of the top five worst episodes of the show. I really enjoyed America Ferrara and Amber Tamblyn's episode though.

But the one on now has no pop-ups and is listed as "new" in my DVR. It's Jay Leno vs. Craig Ferguson, which I'd never seen/knew of. But the IMDb page shows only 2015 & 2016 episodes, none in 2017. So confusing.

Yeah, IMDB page is missing the latest two episodes. The Jay Leno vs. Craig Ferguson is the newest one in any case.
