And even with Assault on Arkham, it's a mixed bag. Because many of us truly believe it's one of the very worst movies WB Animation has ever put out. Me, for example. I believe that. It's just so mundane, unexciting, plot-driven, Batman-lite, and features Troy Baker forcing things just a little too much to be on Mark Hamill's level, which he never will be. He sounds like a cheap imitation, frankly. Like what someone doing a decent impression of Mark Hamill would come up with. And their conceptualization of what the Joker is was utterly lacking in depth, he's just your run-of-the-mill clown psycho who poses no challenge to the viewer. Hamill always managed to excite even when the material was lacking, so that's yet another way in which Baker fails to measure up despite a clear desire to do so. Hamill was creating a character and not simply imitating one. So Baker was the absolute worst part of the movie, but there's nothing much better to be found elsewhere. Batman is completely wasted, and the result is that the production hinges on 2nd rate, unrelatable villains with only passable voice acting and no tonal balance of a significant heroic presence to liven things up. It's like walking through the mud for an hour and a half and then having it dry on you later...
