The feud between the Kielys and the Hennesseys?
I'm 80 episodes in through the end of series 2 and maybe I missed the detailed explanation of why the Kielys and the Hennesseys are feuding?
Near the end of series 2, it was eluded to vaguely when I think Bridget said that Mr. Hennessey did something with his business and left Vincent with only "bits and pieces and nothing." (Paraphrasing from memory here.)
Did series 3 explain it any better? Just wondering.
I don't mind connecting dots, which you can a bit by looking at the different personalities and educational levels of the two families.
So, with no explanation (unless I missed it in an earlier ep) I just came to the conclusion that Mr. Hennessey and Vincent were starting out being best friends in some business together--like hauling with a truck or summat.
And, with the tendencies of Vincent, he may have tried to bring dodgy and downright illegal actions into the business that caused Mr. Hennessey to jettison him from the business and carry on with only legal business practices. It would be just like Bridget the poisonous harridan to think Hennessy was in the wrong by putting her husband out for committing illegal actions. ha
But that's just a guess. Maybe Vin was always on the straight and narrow until the rupture with Hennessy, which drove him to what he is now--a low life petty criminal who has been to prison.
Oh well, it would be nice to know what caused such hatred! Into the second generation, too.
And now Luke will be in that unsafe (for a baby) house of horrors being inculcated into hatred of his da and his da's family. Ugh.
