Red Rock on BBC 1 daytime tv
Season 1 starts on Monday 11th July 13.45 weekdays.
shareFrom what I've seen it's good. Hoping Bridget and Patricia get themselves in a cat fight soon.
shareI've noticed the airing format is different - The BBC are apparently running 2 episodes cut together as one.
shareYes, that is a very nice format, getting two eps edited together.
I like that afternoon drama slot the BBC1 has; and it seems the dramas they show there are usually 42-45 minutes in the hour, unlike the evening ones that come in at +/- 59 minutes.
Makes me wonder if that is why they put Red Rock on in the afternoon drama slot, rather than as an evening show--'cuz two eps make up the length of a normal drama for that time.
It's certainly of a quality for an evening drama! They could have put it on BBC2.
But then I thought that about "Indian Doctor" and "WPC 56," too. :-)))
Pulling a million viewers in at 1:45 in the afternoon on BBC1 should hint to them that this was no ordinary afternoon drama offering! ha
I bet if it was an evening show, even on BBC2, it would be several million with that cast and the storyline....
A shame.
It's taken the slot of Doctors, which is off for a summer break while there are sport interruptions. Some of the 'fans' on the Doctors Facebook site have treated this like the end of the world, and are refusing to watch it and still sulking! But some of us have got hooked. Personally I think it's great, and I hope we get to see the rest of it. (Also, I LOVE Indian Doctor!)
shareYes! Wasn't "Indian Doctor" charming?
Wonderful cast.
Though some are SO busy elsewhere and very in demand, I doubt we'll see another series. But, we can live in hope.
I really need to give "Doctors" more attention--just never got started. It does have some cast members I've liked a lot through the years, so...
Between EastEnders and Corry, there are only so many soaps a person can absorb before one's head explodes...
Though EE finally....might have lost steam for me (only.) Not in ratings of course.
I never thought I'd miss the Grand Dames SO much. Peggy, Pat, the continually aggrieved Missus Arthur Fowler. Maybe I'm just old now. Fair enough. :-))
Their current cast additions just don't have the gravitas of the old guard.
Well, at least we can always tune in to have a collective sigh and feel sorry for poor old sad sack Ian! And there's still Big Mo ducking and diving. Hope springs.
