Too slow
Movie makers have to learn that long drawn out scenes without dialogue does not make the movie more artistic. It just makes it boring.

shareI would agree, at first, but when the movie's antagonist reveal occurs, things pick up from there. More comedic elements begin to shine through and I am not a Serial Killer definitely has a knack for attempting to be "anti-cliché," so to speak, if you look for those moments... and the ending is bangarang. The villain vs anti-hero/villain dynamic becomes a cool look at the psychosis of the two characters juxtaposed.
I was also pleasantly surprised because I went into this not knowing about the supernatural elements. I gave it a 7.5 primarily for originality, and I tell you all of this because I know you care about all that I speak.
Good Day.
People hate what's popular and people jump on bandwagons. The rest of us are in the middle. Done.
One issue transition from book to movie is that the book is entirely narrated by John. We gets his inner thought and his bland interaction with the world. During one episode, he repeats the mantra, I will not kill my mother, repeatedly to calm himself down.
shareAgree. There was so many shots of John riding his bike at times I thought I was watching a bike comercial.🚴
With no real VO or point to the scenes, they could have been shorter or taken out completely.
I get that they wanted to point out the mundane life and boring town, but there was enough of those shots just in the credits. 50 shots of a watertower with the word "Clayton" in the background of John riding his bike was way more than any film needed.
