Dude, how can you say that?
Coltrane essentially WAS Boyhood, his acting- whether it was the curious boy looking at the clouds, the boy with the shaved hair who had an abusive stepdad, the teen with the fringe and the awkward posture or the teen driving off to college, he epitomizes a generation of 90s kids, situated between the 80s Millennials and 2000s iGeneration. I thought he was really natural in front of the screen, comes across as an incredibly likable person and should have no problem IMO taking on this role.
Boyhoods also my favorite film because I could really relate to him and thought that it showed the 2000s and early 10s incredibly well.
Now, he's gone from a Harry Potter fan in his youth to Emma Watsons girlfriend!
That along with Tom Hanks and the new lead guy John Boyega in the new Star Wars (which he actually talked about in 2008), caps it off- I wish him all the best.
