How bad does he have to be?
I don't find him funny at all... How bad do his numbers have to be for him to get replaced?

No, he's not funny in the slightest. Plus, he has all the charisma of a piece of cardboard. Why would they hire this guy? Where did they find him? Maybe he works really cheap - could that be it? Because I can't figure out why this guy is on American TV.
shareI agree, I mean I've seen him in some supporting film roles and he's likable enough as an actor but I don't think he is good as a talk show host. His jokes are flat, the show's format is kind of Fallon-esque and he really has no bite. I dig the charming nice host like Fallon but really one's enough on late night. Still, I'll give him a few weeks to warm up. Hopefully he can find a niche to stand apart from the rest.
shareAny chance of getting Craig back?
If he got the budget this show did he could do so much better, and his interview style was the best of any on TV today. (Because it is not really an interview.)

If Late Late continues as it is no amount of promotion will prevent its failure.
I still prefer Dave as the funniest, and not enough praise is paid to Paul as the "sidekick," or even Alan Caulter as the often hilarious announcer. That franchise will be sorely missed by me--I hope Colbert can fill in and claim the mantle as funniest innovator on late night. We need something now that both Dave and Craig will be gone.)

I like Dave. Among other things he didn't take too much crap from people. He was getting old though and time to move on. It will be interesting to see what Colbert can do, but sadly the Late Late show looks like a talk show now and I really miss watching Craig and various celebrities just talk about random nonsense for 10-15 minutes typically ignoring whatever the artist was there to promote and MOST of them preferred it that way.
shareYet in today's world if CBS promotes Corden the way NBC over promotes Jimmy Fallon not to fail, the network has nothing to worry about.
I disagree. I think if this show remains as bad as it is, no amount of P.R is going to save it. One day, CBS will issue a statement saying something like " The network and James have agreed that perhaps the public wasn't ready for James' unique and sophisticated brand of humor and have agreed for the time being to pursue other paths separately. CBS remains hopeful that we can utilize James' tremendous talents in the future...blah blah blah." Or some such B.S. We can only hope.
