Did McDonalds use beef tallow for their fries before the Ray Kroc take over?

Yes and after. McDonalds used the tallow until 1990.

Yes. They used that until around the late '80s early '90s because the vegetarians had gotten up in arms over it. So they switched over to 100% vegetable oil. That's why they declined in flavor. Before the switch they were much more flavorful.

Yes, they used Beef tallow and it did make the French fries taste the best better than any fast food at that time.. Now, they probably use vegetable oil or peanut oil
