Julia Garner -- what a breath of fresh air!
Well, in this flick, at least. Just saw this film last evening and couldn't take my eyes off her because of the outstanding performance she gave (the lead character gave a great performance too, and both had good chemistry, imo). Even though this is the only movie I've seen featuring her, I get the feeling that she has a rare star quality and has a long, successful career ahead of her; I anticipate her being in a lot of varied roles that require a great deal of energy and emotional depth. In addition, she is absolutely gorgeous, in a unique, classic Hollywood actress kind of way; you can tell she is heavily inspired by the likes of Bette Davis, Katharine Hepburn, et al, and maybe in the future she should play one of said classic actresses. For some reason, in this movie, anyway, she reminded me of Ellen Barkin.
