The monotone, robotic voice. The expressionless face. A dull, repetitive Mary-Sue.

You are supposed to be making the assumption that all of those like her are actually geniuses. Next will be a guest spot for Bruce Jenner.
shareI don’t mind the gender/identity/androgeny of this character, just the actor can’t act. The most blank, expressionless, monotonous character ever. The robot on Lost in Space had more range.

shareI agree. Wish Hollywood would finally stop to try to patronize the audience with what they consider as 'sexual freedom' - what will be next, Bruce Jenner as Mother Teresa? The moon landing with only female characters? After Superman which was followed by 'Superwoman', next 'Super-non-binary'? America goes nuts.
It's also borderline ridiculous and outerworldly to have everyone attributing Taylor as 'THEY', just as if it would be the most normal thing in the world to have an androgynous person in a team and automatically call 'it' (?) 'they'?! No one would do that in the real world out there. Also it is kinda boring to have this robotic, emotionless voice and mimics regardless of what's happening around or with her. This character is seriously disturbed, but everyone is treating her like 'highly intelligent, but otherwise completely normal'.
This show would become more intrigueing again without this odd character that only seems to exist to deliver a patronizing message to the audience.
I have to disagree. Working in IT, one meets a lot of "eccentric characters", and after a while one gets used to the strangeness. In the beginning, Taylor was just ignored and I bet a few snickered about her or just rolled their eyes. Axe capital is also a freewheeling place, where the weirdness is okay.
If you read books about some of the "geniuses" of science or even modern culture, you will find some a lot of strangeness.
Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Edison were strange people for example, especially when they were younger.
However, as Taylor herself observed once Axe held up on a pedestal, she became "cool". Of course, she also made the firm tons of money and worked out a number of good plays. Dollar Bill was resentful of her when she took his place in the poker tournament but after she crushed her opponent in the final game, he had to admit she was the better player.
Axe's take on her was the best. She has never been part of the group, but always an outsider so she is a perfect observer of the group. Like an anthropologist studying a foreign tribe. She also a mathematician believing in the "righteous of numbers". I think she is an interesting opponent for Axe because she is driven mostly by logic, while Axe is driven by logic, emotion, and ego.

I thought Kevin Pollack was great and I really liked their scenes together. Many of us aren't always as kind as we should be to our parents so their relationship rang true to me.

Taylor is still a young person and it takes some longer than others to get out of that rebellious faze...especially when the father is forced to adjust to a gender identity issue that is clearly strange to him. Really enjoyed the scenes between the two of them.
shareI think she's interesting when she breaks. She fighting threw the layers of robot to accept the emotion.
