Skip it, shaky cam garbage

When will people learn? Stop the shaky cam found footage movies! No one likes it, it's not creative, you're not creative, this is cheap and tired.

Have you ever tried not watching something if you know you wont like it? Or are you forced to watch found footage movies?

This! Hell House LLC is one of the best found footage movies I've seen in years. It will permanently be a part of my collection. I love it!

American Horror Story Season 6: Donald Trump

The filming was fine till the last quarter of the movie when it started shooting people from the waist down or over their heads. Many of the scenes in the basement are rendered nonsense and of course those are the scenes that might reveal what happened to the girl chained up (we never find out).

By contrast, "The Last Exorcism" ending, while panicked and shaky, shows enough to let us in on what happens to the characters.

This film leaves us knowing little more in the end than we knew going in.

It's a Sub-genre... With any of these, they have Cult Fans (In a sense)... These fans, including myself, have no problems with Shaky Cams, a little bit of bad acting, scenes being left to our imagination or even the opposite style like 'Exists' where it's on camera the entire time. Either way, we enjoy the little tricks/quirks that make the films what they are. People who come on these boards and talk smack about the MAIN WAY the films are shot just make me laugh. We know what the basics will be... We accept this and roll with it. I personally haven't actually rented this yet. It's at the top of my VOD list at the moment. I'm hoping it lives up to some of the good reviews I've read on some sites dedicated to the FF Genre and give pretty Fair Reviews. The OP is obviously Biased in their take. It's like the people who go on a Scorsese board and say his films are loaded with gratuitous violence and drug use lol... Guess what? I'm aware of his take on making a film. Don't be that guy who questions his "Moral Outlook" because he doesn't say WHY something is bad. That's not his or any filmmakers Job. And again, we also go in knowing what to expect on a basic level. Sub-genre films are heavily predicated on these ideas. We love them for this reason and it's why so many become insanely successful.

If you're a found footage fan, I'm going to be genuinely curious as to what you think of this. I'm huge into FF and I will say that I find many of them to be downright *beep* I still enjoy them and I'm always looking something good in them. So I will be curious to see what you think of this.

Most FF films tend to be pretty poor. I am always skeptical watching them.
This one was very well done and creepy as sh!t.

I'll take a break if something I'm watching is grating on my nerves.
I thought there was too much found footage in this one. For example, the guy waking up in the middle of the night, while the camera is on, and clears his sinuses. Oh come on.

"If Mad Max Fury Road is an 8, then I'll use 8 for OK, 9 is better, 10 is best."

I liked it! and I like found footage films. So maybe you should learn to avoid them.

Why did you watch it then? You're not very bright, are you?

CG gore is the worst thing that has ever happened to the horror genre.

reply

So they can complain about it on IMDB, duh?
