I have to wonder what happens to the infected beyond Casey's ending in the movie. Did she reached her transformation's completion? I expected another stage after her last scene with Jared. Something more akin to the last metamorphosis in "The Fly" (1986) Not that I am rooting for a sequel, but I wonder what will become of the infected if left undisturbed with there swarm.
shareI wondered about the metamorphosis too and imagined the infected would end up looking like humanoid insects (something out of the Terra Formars manga perhaps). I think Casey seemed a little too human at the end to be in a "final stage".
True. I felt this was a pretty good movie overall, but if there was a failing, it had to be the makeup. It is not that it is of poor quality. I just really do not feel that is reads as insect-like. If someone was to show me a picture of Casey in her "final" stage and ask me what was going on in it without any prior knowledge of the plot, I would not have said "insect transformation". Burnt zombie maybe.
