Why wasn't Castro on suicide watch at the jail?

To give someone facing life in prison a bed sheet to potentially hang himself is a huge mistake. Those girls wanted him to spend years in jail, not take the easy way out and hang himself!
The cops should have known he would probably hang himself if given the chance!
He should have been on 24 hour jail guard patrol so this would not have happened.

I don't think he was ever thought to be suicidal.

Anyone that receives life in prison without possibility of parole. Is considered a suicide risk especially the first few years.

reply

He was. They screwed up! He was supposed to be checked on every 10 minutes.

He did those poor girls a favor by committing suicide. Only decent thing he ever did. It saved them having to testify against him in a trial. Now, they can heal and not have to worry about a trial and all that pain being constantly brought up. Thats how I see it.

They are really mad that he did that. They all wanted him to sit in a cell forever what he did. Not die and get to escape. They wanted to go to court and share their story and make sure he knew they were ALIVE.

reply

There wasn't going to be a trial. He had already pled guilty and was sentenced to life plus a thousand years. Michelle gave an victim impact statement at his sentencing. His court days were already done.

because...who cares???!!!

reply

Everyone here in Cleveland KNOWS that the guards purposely allowed him to hang himself....to prevent these victims from going through a court proceeding which they would have to.....

reply

Well hopefully there is a hell, and that's where he is now!

reply

Because if they'd made the poor guy sleep on a bare mattress, he probably would have sued for cruel and unusual punishment and won.

reply

Well, he's met his Maker. No harm, no foul.
