I mean, they're both bad ass do gooders amidst a group of not so stable, way more powerful teammates. At least, that's how I see it.

shareThe power gap isn't as big here. Even with strength I don't think Jessica could take DD or stick in a fight. Luke can be taken out with high grade military equipment. I mean a shotgun to the head put him down imagine a 50 cal. I don't know anything about Ironfist except he can become super strong but it takes a lot of energy or some such. Anyways a bullet can stop him.
DD also has radar vision, stealth skills, lie detection, law knowledge for taking people down legally, and h2h training. In a fight against someone able to hurt Luke, DD and Ironfist would probably be better than the super humans because they actually know how to fight.
Cap on the other hand was a weaker than hulk and Thor. Not as durable or well armed as Ironman and didn't use range weapons like guns. The team is a lot more balanced here.
the concussive force of the shotgun blast in his face knocked Luke out... because they needed him out of action for the story. I doubt a 50 cal would do much.
I think they are setting up DD to be the leader of this team, just because he has more experience fighting crime. IF they can agree on a leader. The defenders may just be a loose grouping of heroes that work to defeat a common enemy.

I would think Daredevil and Luke Cage would be the co-leaders given they are kind of the main presence in their neighborhoods. Jessica Jones for the most part has kept her work fairly off the radar. Iron Fist it has yet to be seen but from his history and what the season will be about is a person vendetta.
I will say I think Daredevil and Iron Fist will become friends given their backgrounds in martial arts.
