Supposedly it's to start filming soon and be done by early next year which then JJ season2 would start filming. But we haven't had any updates lately. Also The Punisher has started filming which probably means it will debut in late 2017. The Defenders being 8 eps compared to the usual 13 makes for a quicker filming schedule and thus release.
shareDefenders and JJ S2 are being filmed back to back. Defenders are kinda confirmed for 2017, and so JJ S2, and obviously Iron Fist. Netflix will release 3 seasons per year max. The Punisher comes in 2018 Q1.

Makes sense for the Punisher to be released in late 2017 with JJ S2 arriving in early 2018
Luke Cage started filming in December. Iron Fist started filming in the summer and comes out in March. So they start filming about 9 months before release. Which means JJ2 will come out late 2017.
First season of Jessica Jones started filming in February and came out in the same year.
they won't release 4 next year. we're due to see JJS2 in early 2018 with late 2017 being The Punisher or The Defenders

Jessica Jones will definitely shoot before the Punisher, so it makes sense it will be released before the Punisher. The 2017 date doesn't mean anything, Iron Fist had a release date of 2016 up to about 6 months ago.
Sorry if you would prefer a Punisher series before a Jessica Jones series, but the facts are what they are.
MCU Exchange has the story, but he is right Punisher has already started filming and will be in November 2017. Defenders is in July 2017, and Iron Fist in March.
Jessica Jones Season 2 is expected February 2018.

You can google or check the other threads on the board. The Punisher is filming now and should be released sometime within a year. Whether that be September 2017 or Dec 2017 it will be before 2018. Jessica Jones is due to start filming right after the Defenders wraps (which will begin in early November).
