With the success of Vincent D'Onofrio Netflix/Marvel looks to be trying to catch lightning in a bottle a second time with Sigourney Weaver as the villain.
This is great for future series as it seems the studios fully realizes the villain makes the story not the hero.
People say the hero is only as good as the villain of the story but I like to think the story is only as good as the villain. Would Batman be as great as he is if it weren't for the Joker or movies like The Dark Knight? Would the X-Men be that great if it wasn't for Magneto? Now some heroes carry the story very well without any great villains. Deadpool, Punisher and Wolverine are solid examples of that.
