How much would Kurt have hated a Solo Album

being released from bits and pieces of unfinished material? It is out in November apparently. It seems like no one in that entire family gives a crap about him or his legacy. What HE would have wanted. $$$$$ and control and that is it for Courtney. downright sickening.

And they were practically divorced at the end yet that hag ended up with his estate.

Like you would have known what Kurt would have wanted? Maybe he wouldn't care. Maybe he would. It doesn't matter now because he is gone. The money will probably be split between Frances, Courtney, Brett. You don't like it than don't buy it. Simple as that.

Now you are just lying. They were not practically divorce. They weren't even in a middle of a divorce.

reply

I certainly won't be buying it. Anyone claiming Kurt wouldn't mind is lying to defend Courtney or has never heard any Nirvana interviews.
And yes according to their lawyer, as per recorded conversation Kurt was inquiring about divorce.

Inquiring about divorce is totally different than being practically divorced. And that same lawyer also claimed that they didn't know how serious Kurt was.

Rosemary Carroll was their ENTERTAINMENT lawyer. She told Grant that Kurt called her and said he wanted divorce, but she would not have been the one to do it because that wasn't her specialty and she is ALSO CL's lawyer. She also told Grant that Kurt wasn't suicidal, which is weird because she, and even her ex-husband, knew Rome was not an accident. People are often in shock an in denial when they find out someone died, especially when it is a suicide.

The "recorded conversation" you refer to is between Carroll and Grant, not Carroll and Kurt. There is no evidence of divorce or plans for a will beyond what Carroll said, meaning that it is hearsay.

What the? Are you suggesting that Kurt recorded a solo album, yet he'd detest anyone actually listening to it?

That doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Not to mention, dude enjoyed the spotlight, on his lonesome, as well. The unplugged show, he demanded to play Pennyroyal tea by himself, since it spoke to him on a personal level.

And finally... when it comes to art, no, it is NOT what the artist wants. Its want the people consuming the art would want. If people are interested in hearing it, then it should be done.

Many people argue that art is valueless without having people appreciate it. In other words, if an artist can't find an audience, then its not art. The audience defines whether something is art, not the artist.

Franz Kafka, one of the most famous writers ever, wanted his writings torn up. Instead, after he died, his buddy published it all.

It's not a solo album, it is fragments of unreleased recordings.

This thinking partially led to his suicide, he felt trapped into Nirvana by labels, people relying on him for money, etc.

reply

I'm guessing you're not an artist ....

reply

he should have done a will if he cared about stuff like that, he probably didn't give a *beep* about it

reply

I think for anyone to make money off the album, a large amount of people would have to buy it and from what I have heard it sound *beep* horrible. It is nothing but a money grab that pisses all over his legacy.
