The negative reviews are simply wrong

Don't let yourself be fooled by some of these insufferable dumb reviews. This movie is truly one of a kind. Its a real masterpiece. What the filmmakers have accomplished here is breathtaking to say the least. Its simply a great piece of art. Give it a watch!

You need to see more movies.

Remove the gimmick from this one and THINK about the story for a minute: there's absolutely NOTHING original there -- it's a talky, light noir crime tale that has been done to death in multiple film cultures -- and no standout acting performances to balance it out.

You fell for a gimmick that has been far better used elsewhere, by filmmakers with something to say.

The negative reviews are actually right. Those that give it a 1 out of 10 are taking things too far, but the film at best deserves a 5 or 6 out of 10, and the IMDB rating will get there in time, as more people see it further removed from the hype provided by those who think it's the most original thing since the invention of cinema.

I've seen a lot of films, buddy, and I can tell you that there are not enough films like Victoria. The story you are describing has not been done before. There are films who may have the same idea but as far as execution goes and commitment to the end result, you will not get a lot of other films like it. Sure, a one take film is useless if the movie sourrounding it sucks but thats not the case here. I'm not sure if you're german but as somone who is, the acting came across as very natural. At times I forgot I was watching a staged film because everything seemed like it was taken out of an ordinary life. The movie accomplished a lot of things.

If you are truly looking for totally original stories, you will not be pleased at this day and age. Broaden your mind and realize that the same story can be made into different movies because everyone has another style and other ideas to add. Your criticism seems lazy and unthoughtful because it only aims at one aspect of the film and its also one that doesn't really take anything away from the movies greatness

I have to agree with the OP. I knew nothing going into this film and it didn't occur to me that it was filmed in one take until a little ways in so I didn't have that to get me excited about it either. I thought they did a great job making me feel like I was there with the characters and hinting at something bad coming but keeping me guessing. Sure the plot was fairly simple but that's what kept it grounded in reality. A complex plot with a few extra twists would've seemed out of place with the style they used. I gave it an 8 out of 10 because it really does feel original in a way.

I thought it was ok. Sure it was shot incredibly, but other than that the characters were annoying and I didn't really care about any of these drunken idiots.

I didn't like it. Yeah, ok, filmed in a take, awesome, should I say it is a masterpiece because of that? Naaa, other than the way it was filmed, this movie has little else going for it.
