Meh, mildly entertaining
It feels like it was written for Nickelodeon and then "spiced up" with blood for an MA rating. It's not bad, just badly written. In all other aspects it's professionally done.
Pretty boy playing awkward nerdy kid - check
Pretty girl in lead role who never gets touched or even dirty - check
Black guy with exaggerated personality and underdeveloped part - check
Multi-cultural cast - check
Sexually assertive girls + passive boys - check
+Bonus points for a sorta original ending.
+Bonus points for bad guys being too cool
-Subtract points for Netflix giving away too much in the header photo. It's actually a huge spoiler.
-Subtract points for slow start.
*Free pass to 25 year olds playing teenagers, it's a horror tradition, plus most teen actors suck.
*And yes, there is mid-credits bonus scene.
