I'm enjoying this!

Nice slow-burner without all the tiring introspection of others (which shall remain nameless, but you know who you are!). And a genuinely nice and compassionate DCI.

Haven't been this gripped since The Missing.

Although I kept seeing ads for this drama, I almost missed it, in fact I just watched Ep.1 on the laptop, via the ITV Player, then watched Ep.2 on the tv, via catch up tonight.

I'm so glad I saw them, they really were great, and interesting to watch. I love trying to remember who some of the cast are too!!

Great storyline and acting.

Strange you should say that, supergran. I've just re-watched my recording of The Missing this weekend, partly for the same reason. I can see how they built such a wonderful cast; if I were an actor and were offered a script like this I would jump at playing a part in the show too! I would have expected the superb performances being turned in by Nicola Walker, Gemma Jones and Bernard Hill, but Sanjeev Bhaskar has been an absolute revelation. Brilliant stuff.

Hi hillrosemary. How nice to speak to you again! 

I'm afraid I couldn't watch The Missing again. I've still got it on the hard-drive, and I thought it was absolutely gripping, but it was completely harrowing. I couldn't put myself through that again! Can you understand what I mean?

The cast of Unforgotten is first class. Can't wait for the conclusion on Thursday. Haven't got a clue who did it! Anybody's guess. Have you got any theories?

Great cast and for my money Trevor Eve ("you can call me Sir Phillip") and Tom Courtenay have been the standouts

I'm guessing it was the wife of the guy in the wheelchair (sorry can't remember his name).

I think he was homosexual and his wife maybe found them together and went in a rage. He covered her tracks.

There's far more activity on The Guardian comments section than there is here, including a ton of different theories:

I love this series.

Hi SG. It's been nearly a year since The Missing and I still think about it.

I happened upon this little gem by accident (watching the first three episodes on catch up on my laptop). I'd been lamenting that nothing came close to The Missing but this gives it a run for its money. The depth of character analysis is brilliant as is the acting.

I've also been watching River on BBC, which is very good and has the same lead actress in it.

Still, there is nothing like a missing child to tug at the heartstrings so for sheer emotional investment, The Missing still comes out on top.
