i saw a TV movie which was very similar to this . What was the point in making a film version ?

I would agree that this movie really didn't add anything to previous ones or the WWII documentaries on the subject.

But it's fine for what it is.

To make money! More so the TV movie was done in 75 ... 41 years ago. It is time to retell.
