Why did they Hesitate... *SPOILER*

...at the most crucial moment? My question is why did they keep hesitating? There was more than one time they hesitated, for instance when they attempt to escape, they went the wrong way and just sit in their car while the Insurgents are surrounding them.. I was shouting RUN THEM OVER! GET OUT OF THERE! They finally did but not until the Insurgents started shooting at them! If they didn't have Bulletproof glass on their car they would have all died..

This was just one example of them hesitating, why did they keep hesitating?

That's how it was in reality. Read the book.

It was confusing as hell down there, they didn't know who to trust, no one knew who was good or bad. Besides, this is not a videogame. You can't just shoot at people and not think of what the situation is. Hesitation is part of the job. Not everything is black and white. Especially in those countries.

As for the guys surrounding the car, the situation was more complicated than it looked: for one, they could've been friendly fighters, or just locals who simply wanted to warn them or say something else. That's why the guys didn't start the car until they realized what was really happening. They didn't want to be a part of another gun fight.

Bottom line, these things are not easy. That's how it is in real life and Mike Bay did a great job recreating those moments in the movie.

Throughout the movie the CIA Chief-of-Station, constantly gives the team strict reminders to never engage the citizens. That's why they constantly trod a fine line "holding off".🐭
