The ending, did Rocky dream it?

Rocky talked about some ladybug in the beginning of the movie, it kept her company when her mom locked her in the trunk of their car. Rocky also wanted to tattoo the ladybug on her wrist, it was her last tattoo ever and she was going to color it once she and her sister got to California.

A ladybug landed on her arm after she was pulled back in the blind man's house, giving her strength to fight back.
Anyone else think that the ladybug was hinting to that the ending might just be Rocky's dream or her mind escaping from the fact that she really was just caught in the guys basement?

Also, the ending seemed just to perfect or maybe it's just me who wanted a much darker ending to an great movie.

It's often believed that lady birds (UK name for them) are spirits of deceased loved ones that come to you to let you know they're OK and it's OK to let go. Don't know if that's any relevance...I haven't seen the film yet, but I plan to soon.
