One change I would have made, and I know it sounds bad..... (spoilers)

Just have to throw out there that I'm not pro-rape lol, but for the impact of the ending of the film, I would have had Rocky get impregnated.

It would leave that cliffhanger much more open to us asking so many more questions:

- Would he pursue her for his baby?
- Would she raise the baby? Would she consider adoption or abortion?

Or better yet, you could leave it to him forcing his semen into her, and us never knowing the result. So our first question before those hypothetical scenarios would be: did she get pregnant?

It's a small thing for me, and personally it would not make that particular scene any better (for many it would probably worsen it), but for the ending I just think it would add that extra layer of, "Where does this go from here?" Not in like sequel fashion or anything, but just in the film's little universe. Kind of leaves us hanging in the balance in that way, like the movie The Gift. (up to you if you want to see what movie I'm talking about)

Valid point.

The current ending appeared to be a proper ending. She watches tv. Finds out he's alive. She goes off into the sunset. End of movie.

Your scenario would have led to a more ambiguous ending, leaving the viewer with questions, and possibility of sequel(s).

SPOILERS! I would have changed the fact that the investigators actually got their license in that profession. They would jave definitely found out that he was kidnapping people. They would have maybe seen the body in that tar it wasn't in there to long, the phones had messages indicating another burglar, and that they were hiding, also the basement had a place that literally said "kidnap holding area" written all over it.

It wouldn't surprise me if they made a sequel with her having the kid. The way she was carrying that backpack in the end looked very weird to me and I thought she was pregnant.
