Trailer spoils TOO much of the movie/scares

I probably would've enjoyed this movie a LOT more if the major scenes/scares weren't in the trailer...namely the "lights out" scene in the basement, which INCLUDES Alex getting surprised grabbed by the neck (booo) and the imprisoned girl pouncing out at them!

Damn trailer giveaway too much to get us into the theaters. Same happened with Lights Out, best scares are ALL in the trailer.

This is why I so vindicated not watching horror trailers. Been that way since 2009 and I've never looked back.

reply

I agree .. although I still did jump.. I was anticipating it because I knew it was going to happen

I always avoid trailers for horror movies. You should consider doing the same, it's actually a great idea

But how will I know if I even wanna SEE said movie?!?!?!? Just go by the synopsis?

For example the RINGS trailer looks "weak"...I can wait til that comes out on rental.

Read non spoiler reviews. Look at the ratings on IMDB & Rotten Tomatoes.

I just look at the synopsis and and ratings and reviews,, that way I'll know if I should see it

Not to mention Money getting shot in the head!!

I'D BUY THAT FOR A DOLLAR!

Many times I have thought after seeing a trailer, well, now l guess l don't have to see the film; having just now seen all its highlights, what would be the point?

reply

Which is why I don't watch full trailers anymore. They give away far too much. The most I'll watch is a teaser trailer.

I'll never understand why trailers are released featuring major spoilers/surprises such as that one. Who makes such idiotic decisions?

reply

That was a biggie. I've seen some horror trailers that spoiled movies but this one was the worst. Literally every scare was in the trailer.
