Why the hell are liberals against self defense?

If someone breaks into my house they are going to die, if I have a gun present. Period. I have a daughter. Some people have broken into homes and raped and killed everyone inside.In the case of the family from Connecticut, a 12 year old child was tied to a bed and sexually assaulted by a grown man before being set on fire . Where do liberals get their "ideas" from? Some of you have the minds of underdeveloped children. No I do not care, that the person lurking around my home, MIGHT not hurt me, im not gonna wait around to see.

As long as an intruder is still in the house, they are a serious threat to the family inside. I would definitely try to deliver a kill shot to anyone lurking in my house. No questions asked. No i would not feel sorry for them.
If libs want dont want to protect their family or themselves and want to be at the total mercy of wild and crazy criminals , thats on them. But i sure wish they would keep their dumb opinions in check

I had no problem with him protecting his house, but to make him the bad guy they added the additional twist to it.

The whole point of the "twist" was that the old man's moral ground was completely subverted. I don't really know what you're trying to say here aside from the fact that you have a serious plan of action should anyone every break into your home(?)

I know of no liberal against self defense. That is the job of the neo conservatives to make YOU think liberals are against self defense.

Obama voted against allowing people to use handguns to defend themselves against intruders, while he was in the US Senate.

He also supported a complete handgun ban when he was running to be an Illinois State Senator.

One of many examples, but I know not all liberals feel this way...

It'd be better to hold the gun on the intruder and wait for the police to come. Breaking and entering shouldn't be a killing offense. Not everyone who breaks into your house is trying to rape you and your children. Imagine if you ended up shooting an unarmed teenager.

I can't relate to your savage views. Saying that someone deserves to die for breaking and entering sounds pretty extreme to me. It stems from this pathetically self-centered and logically inconsistent viewpoint that people who commit crimes deserve any and all bad things to happen to them. Who are you to decide what someone else deserves? Isn't that what we have the courts for?

No one is saying that. We're saying that when someone who breaks into your house with the intention to not only rob you, but to likely hurt you or your family, perhaps rape your wife, I'm going to do everything in my power and more to hurt them before they hurt me or any family members.

Someone who steals a loaf of bread because he's/she's hungry is not even remotely the same as some scummy thung who wants to hurt, and steal people's belongings. You're getting your "facts" mixed up.

Who are you to decide what someone else deserves?

The homeowner who's house is being broken into by someone with some rather sinister intentions.

Isn't that what we have the courts for?

Oh yeah, that's right, it's entirely realistic to reason with a criminal, in the dark, in the middle of the night whilst your half asleep. I can only imagine that if you said to this random person, "Hi there, would mind terribly if you just calmly wait here while I call the police on you? The you so much" he would comply 100%....

I used to live in South Africa. When someone breaks into your house there, they don't just rob you, they rape your wife and child right in front of you, then kill them, destroy your house then beat you to within an inch of your life.

They are not there to quietly bake you a wonderful cake to leave you, so that you wake up to a delightful, sweet surprise in the morning.

I usually don't do iff topics, but I agree. As far as I'm concerned, if someone breaks into your house, you should not only be allowed to cut the b@stard into pieces, you should get a medal for ridding this earth of one more piece of garbage.
