Like they said in the movie when they took the money from the safe, it was much more than $300K. They said it was closer to a million.
And there ARE cheap places to live in many parts of California. E.g. just now I found a 2 BR apartment in Isla Vista for under $700 a month, a couple of blocks from the ocean. I figure those two are not going to be choosy.
