It should have been easy to out-maneuver a blind man
This was the thing I found hardest to believe. In a house with numerous rooms and hallways there were limitless ways to distract and then attack him, even though he had a gun. The other bothersome thing was the hoary plot device of not finishing off the "bad guy" when he was down. Not necessarily killing him, but they sure could have secured him a little better.
