I cheering for the old man and his dog to win

Rocky only cared about herself. She was using Money to get Money and manipulated Alex to get what she wanted (his assistance in breaking in houses to get more money for herself) because she knew she could use his affection to her advantage. She ended up getting her "friend" killed because of her greed and even in the end she just left them behind to rot while she escaped. No concern for the girl she found or clearing her friends names or telling the police about what the blind guy was doing. It was all about her escaping with the money to live her fantasy life in California. I really hated her character and only saw her as manipulative and selfish. Her Help her sister was a shallow reason to risk everyone's safety and what about Alex and his Dad he cared for? Not like she couldn't have gotten a 9-5, saved up for her own place and take her sister with her but that would require sense and a different movie plot.

I get that people think the Old Man stricken with grief was bad but that's because we didn't get to see his back story. His grief brought him to seeking out justice against his daughters killer who went free because of her families wealth and he sought justice the way he saw it to be fit with "An eye for an eye".

Just looking at the Rocky and her friends breaking into peoples homes without a concern for them and stealing what doesn't belongs to them rules out any sympathy in my book it's just the consequence of being a thief. They broke into his home with a loaded weapon, and tried to rob him. Whatever they got after that they had coming to them.

In the basement did he have a right to impregnate her? It's a crooked type of justice but because of her His captive and his unborn child died Does that make her innocent all of a sudden? I don't think so but like The blind implied he didn't believe in God or that people get what's coming to them. Probably because he saw his daughters killer walk free and there was no justice for that. Only the justice he made.

I hope that if there is a sequel The plot is that the Blind man was successful with his impregnation procedure (since they didn't show that it did or didn't happen exactly and the Blind man is coming after Rocky to collect his Kid

You're sick. So, it's ok to keep women chained up in your basement and be a rapist. I'm sure his daughter would not like the man he turned into. The thieves are better than the old man because they don't kidnap and rape women.

Out of all I wrote is that's all you got out of it? The girl chained in his basement wasn't innocent. She killed his daughter and got away with it. She destroyed his entire life and family. They showed you how deep in grief he was. Did you not see him watching videos of his daughter on the TV when they broke in? Or The room that he kept with all her stuff in it? and he never raped her he wasn't a rapist per say he impregnated her with his turkey baster..at best it's sexual assault with an object The point is what this girl did to him mad him go mad with grief at the loss of his daughter and found his own deranged way of bringing his daughters killer to justice after the court system failed him and she went free. The difference is his grief was personal and the burglars were just there to rob him. I don't think the fact they brought a gun with them with the intent to kill him if needed makes them innocent. They were criminals..the blind mans only crime was seeking Vengeance.

and no... the old man is better than the thieves because he only harms the people that bring harm to him and his family. Some rich girl hits and kills your child and gets to walk away free and live her life. No way.. she has to pay!

it doesn't matter. You still can't take the law into your own hands even if the law fails you. Yes, I feel sorry for the old man and saw how sad he was. But, it doesn't give him the right to do what he did. If the old man was caught could claim insanity but he would still go to jail.

Agreed with the replier. Tying up an unwilling person to inject them with your sperm and forcing them to give birth to your seed is kind of a psychotic response to loss. Rocky wasn't selfish. She wanted to get her little sister out of Detroit and that's not easy. They didn't go into that house to hurt anyone. Was taking his money awful? Of course, but they were desperate. Is keeping a girl captive in your basement and injecting her with your sperm worse?

YES. YES IT IS.

reply

You don't need 3 million dollars to leave Detroit. You don't need 300 thousand, or 3 thousand. You need bus fair and willingness to get a job wherever you end up.

You're a sick *beep*, rapist psychopath apologist

I felt the director screwed up with that stupid part. If the old man was innocent we would have had an easy protagonist to root for. Instead I ended up hating everyone. There was no good guy in this and it didn't work.

*beep* those kids. Typical liberal bs. They were poor so it was ok to rob him? Give me a break. I had a *beep* child and was poor guess what I didn't do? I didn't break the law. I'm not saying that it's ok to do what he did to the girl but it's understandable. It came from a place of being wronged against the person who wronged him. These entitled *beep* thought that it was ok to rob a man who lost his daughter and went blind fighting for their country. Sorry I'm rooting for him everytime. If this had just been a movie about him getting his vengeance you would all love it but only if it were a man that killed his daughter. You all loved boondocks saints.

i agree. that blonde bitch was greedy. she could have gotten a job in the same city and taken care of her sister.

instead she wants a quick buck by robbing an old blind man so she can party in california

also, the old guy should have just killed that girl who killed his daughter. i got no problem with kidnapping and impregnating her

*beep* the law. you harm me and my family, i put a knife in your throat

reply

You Kidnap and rape a woman I don't care what your reason is You deserve a knife in your throat. Screw the law!

i agree

Rocky was a straight up B. I was hoping she would be the next to die after Money. She was a horrible person from beginning to end. Seriously, in what world is a person who robs people for a living fit to be a role model for anyone and take care of their kid sibling?

I love that she is so greedy that she STILL decides to steal the money in the aftershock of Money's death, and she hangs on to the money for dear life for the rest of the movie. If she hadn't stolen the blind guy's money, he would not have gone into rage mode destroying everything and looking everywhere for them. So really, it is her fault that Alex gets killed. I love that he is only concerned about saving her, and she only cares about herself. Also, remember how she mocks the blind man's disability near the end by taunting him about not being "useful" outside after she escapes the house the first time? It takes a total A-hole to mock someone for being disabled, and the lowest kind of turd to attack and rob a person who is disabled AND a military veteran. I actually know people who have been harmed and robbed at gunpoint, and those were very traumatizing experiences that I hope to never go through.

People should not feel sorry at all for Rocky. She didn't have "no options," she could have worked a regular 9-5 or stripped, for all I care. There are tons of places in the restaurant industry that have no qualms about hiring people with criminal records either. And if I'm not mistaken, wasn't Rocky using an iPhone? I love how people feel bad for her because she's supposed to be so destitute yet has the money to blow off on an iPhone and new tattoos.

Sorry, there is absolutely nothing redeeming about this woman at all.
