Because she was the only robber with a subplot...boo hoo her dad left and her mom is a druggie. Tons of people have it worse and don't resort to robbery. IMO she should have died like the boys...but perhaps killing a woman would have caused controversy.

If Rocky had died she wouldn't have been able to help her little sister. Her little sister would have most likely turned out just like Rocky. If it was just Rocky I wouldn't have cared if she survived. I thought her little sister was daughter and she was a single mom.

At the end of the day, all three "protagonists" are just awful people. If not for Rocky's greed, she and Alex probably could have escaped together without a scratch.
if Rock was self centered she wouldn't have even cared about her little sister. And, Alex is not so innocent he just wanted to screw Rocky. That's the only reason he was there.
shareMoney is the one who said Alex only wants to get into Rocky's pants. How do you fail to see the blaring nuance throughout the movie that Alex is clearly attracted to Rocky?
Furthermore, Alex repeatedly saves Rocky and is intent on sticking together to ensure both of their survival. Pretty heroic for someone you think is just looking for some ass. Rocky prioritized the money over survival. Alex was freaked out the whole time and reluctant about robbing this specific person because he at least has the integrity to know that it's extremely wrong to rob a person who is disabled and has served in the military. He had the most integrity and empathy of anyone in the group.
I don't feel sorry for Rocky just because they gave her personal life screen time to set her up as a good person. I don't buy it. She has no remorse or care about what she steals or who she steals from. Alex at least has enough morals to say it's flat-out wrong to rob a blind army vet.
I guess he was attracted to the wrong girl.

Im with you. Rocky was kind of a bitch. I felt more sorry for the blind man than I did for the trio of thugs.
shareLol at "kind of". Women basically have to commit triple murder just to be called what they actually are, whereas a guy in her position would be getting raked through the coals. She left her "friends" to die and used everybody for her own selfish goals getting them killed, then instead of coming clean to the police and telling the about the Blind Man's rape dungeon she stays quiet so she can use her stolen money to move to California. Call it what it is, she is lower than worms in the dirt.
shareI was actually rooting for Alex. He was the least scummy of the three and was only there because of peer pressure and he had such a boner for Rocky. If he was smart he would have left when the guy pulled the gun. I also didn't mind if the old man killed all of them, but I don't think Rocky should have lived. And they were very careful to make sure the old man was not a "rapist" to avoid controversy though he definitely was anyways by the legal definition.
shareIt should have ended with Rocky's recapture and a second turkey baster scene...that's probably how it would have ended if this movie were made in the 70's. Horrific, but justified. Or, a "happy ending" in which Alex triumphs, they lose the money, (choose life over money), the cops come and the old man is exposed for the monster he is.... that's an ending you might have seen in the 90's or 00's. Either would have been better thematically. With the ending we got, I'm not sure what this film is trying to say.

shareI just finished watching this for the first time and I came on here to say that I have no sympathy for Rocky or any of the thieves. Bottom line, they are scumbags who resort to crime just to make an easy buck. Even though the blind man was sick and twisted, I still wished he had put a bullet in Rocky's head.

shareand unless she was her little sister legal guardian she commits kidnapping at the end and even evades out of state with her. Even if they are in bad homes you just can't take kids and run out of state like that.
