Is this similar to 10 Cloverfield Lane?

I've read about both, but I haven't seen either yet but they sound on the surface like they have a number of similar premises/plot points.

Very similar. Both are good.

Other than most of the story takes place in one dwelling I wouldn't say they are totally similar.

reply

I wouldn't say they were similar at all. Only that a daughter had been lost and people were trapped in a confined space.

reply

I saw both and those were 2 very different movies to me. The only similarity is the fact that several people are confined in a closed space. The dynamic and the intrigue is completeley different.

Thanks very much for all the replies.

I will try and see both movies.

They're both thrillers. 10 Cloverfield Lane had a much more of a 'stage play' feel, because it's 3 characters trapped in a bunker with a lot of dialogue. It was a terrific film. Don't Breathe was more of an action film; very violent and stylistically shot. The characters were pretty unlikable, so it was like watching train wreck with a bunch of criminals beating the hell out of each other. I loved them both for different reasons, so they're both worth a watch imo.

I would also suggest watching Green Room which was my favorite movie of 2016.

Cheers!

Cloverfield Lane actually has a likable protagonist... Don't Breathe offers none.

reply

Not even close.

((Damn the remakes, Save the originals.))

reply

Not similar by any means.
