Alex was a total sucker
Alex did all this illegal *beep* and got himself killed because he hoped that Rocky would reciprocate his feelings. She wouldn't, even after he saved her life. She was willing to give him a little hope to get his help but she made it clear when he said that he couldn't leave for California in the beginning that he wasn't that important to her. He thought they shared a connection but he was wrong. Let the be a lesson to all the young men out there: if the girl you're in love with chooses the bad boy don't waste your life for her.
