Yeah, going to have a hard time explaining that ending .
Kinda like they shot it before they knew the show was renewed. :/

It's possible the station exploding wasn't shown in real time.

Um, that's exactly what happened; They shot the finale long before the show was renewed.

Let that sink in for a moment. The writers/producers were willing to end the show on a massive cliffhanger and leave all the fans in the lurch if the show didn't get renewed. Just like the first season. Just like they'll do next season, and the season after that if there is one.

Unless the production team decides to end a show on their own, or the network tells them before the next season even goes into production, that it will be their last, they will end every season on some kind of a cliffhanger, or leave the ending open in some way. It's the way all dramas with ongoing plots are done now.

And if the show gets canceled on a huge cliffhanger? The producers shrug, say "Sh!t happens" and move onto their next project.

It looks like they did still set it up so that everyone could get away. Three was picked up by whoever that guy was who probably knew Boone. Five was taken to the Truffault's private shuttle. Two's nanites can heal her. Only Six wasn't shown with an obvious way out of the predicament. Nyx too, I guess, unless she prepared herself for dealing with Zairon poisons after the previous episode. But Nyx isn't part of the core numbered crew, so her death is acceptable. Only with Six would they need to weasel out a way for him to have survived.

Fun show!

For a moment I thought the guy about to save 3 was 1 then he came into focus :(

reply

A fair assessment. But I'm not worried about Six, he was the only one completely free to move around at that point.

It reminded me specifically of the season 1 finale of Twin Peaks.

That episode was amazing.

I haven't felt this much tension and excitement from a SyFy show since Caprica. Well done!
