Three and Five are so sweet

I love watching them together. They're not a romance, they're just a great quirky snarky friendship and I'm so glad they got their own episode. The look on Three's face when he realized that no matter what he said, Five wouldn't leave him. And when she thanked him for coming to get her and said she was scared, and he said he was scared too, sort of. And how perfect was it when she visited him in the infirmary? I was so hoping they wouldn't hug, that just wouldn't be them at all. Sour fruit he hated mashed in his oatmeal, that was exactly right for them.

Really? Nobody cares about Five and Three? They were adorable, and it could be a pretty big development for the future that Three told that cop about the corporations.

Yeah it was :) The best scene in the series by far.

I admit I was a little worried. Of course Three didn't mean what he was saying, and I didn't think Five was going to believe him, but when she started to cry, I was a little worried her feelings were hurt.

I just saw the episode and I fully agree. More shows/movies need to follow this example and realise that two people of the opposite sex can have a deep and strong bond that has nothing to do with romance (there are some sure but there's plenty of room for more).

Plus Five is adorable.

Five is totally adorable. That was quite a look on Three's face when that man said Five didn't look like a kid. Three just sees her as a little sister, I don't think he's ever used her name. He calls her Kid, and that's what she is to him, and I think it was quite a shock to him that someone else might see her as a young woman, with all that implies. I have to wonder if he's going to get all overprotective now. It would be fun to see her interested in a young man and the object of her interest having to get past Three. 

I love their relationship too. He has become her big brother in a sense and I think he is going to be extremely overprotective once she shows an interest in a guy or if a guy shows an interest in her.

Sorry a few days late on your original post - yeah I definitely love the friendship that has become of them two. She's like a little kid sister, and he's the big brother she loves to torment at the end w/the sour fruit in his oatmeal - it was funny and yet a great way to start a refreshing big bro/little sis relationship or just fantastic friends who play jokes on each other, but you can tell they care for each other (as friends that is).. great scene.

They were all great scenes but it was the look on Three's face when he realized Five wouldn't leave him that got me. It was probably hurting him worse than the bullet wound to talk like that to her and it didn't do any good at all. Five saw right through him. Oh, I so want more with their friendship, I hope this isn't just a one-shot and that the writers develop these two further.

They make a good pair. A lot of natural chemistry between them two. I hope the shippers don't ruin it.

reply

I hope so too. I'd love to see Three do an Uncle Buck on any boy that Five smiles at. 

If five doesn't reveal she's alive pretty soon, the crew of the Raza will probably do something drastic to Zairon. I bet the first part of the season will be the crew separated all trying to avenge each other against Ryo. I'm guessing three and android will become very terrifying people until five reveals herself to be alive (and probably takes Ryo out). This next season kind of writes itself.

I think you're right.

I think the best part about it was the fact that Three thought his plan to get her to leave was working. Five is just like "Come on, I know exactly what you're doing."

reply

Oh, he totally thought his plan was working when she started crying. He was making fun of her for crying, and then when he realized that there was no way she would leave him and he got so serious and pleading with her, I wanted to cry. He really loves her. I doubt he ever admits it, or that she'll ever admit she loves him, but they really do love each other. It's like she's the most annoying little sister to the most obnoxious big brother but don't mess with one when the other is around.

So what about 5 and 6.. they have shared a similar bond for much longer. I agree though, the episode majoring on 3 and 5 was sweet.. I love when a rough character like 3 has a sweet inner side.

reply

I thought she had a good bond with 6 also, but then thought she had a good vibe with 2 and the Droid. Gosh she will never get a date if the guy (or gal, LOL) has to go through all of there ideas of being a safe date for her.

Is anyone else disappointed that no mention was made of the fact that Five spent a while living in Three's childhood memories (back in Season 1, when she tried experiencing some crew members' memories)? Three and Five were running around a forest and hiding out in a farm, so it seemed like it should have been brought up. At the end of the episode, I was hoping that it was elderberries (Three's favourite) that Five had snuck into his oatmeal.

Does Three even know about those farmboy memories that Five had experienced? I know that Six knows since he went into the memory to retrieve Five, but did they ever tell the rest of the crew? And does the rest of the crew know about the time when Three spent some time with his old crew and found out about his past?

I'm not sure whether Three and Five should have put 2-and-2 together and realized that Three was the farmboy, or whether they actually don't have enough information to know that.

reply

Oh, no, not elderberries! That would have been a nice thing to do.  It was so perfectly Five that she would bring Three something to eat and spike it with those sour berries. They're way too snarky with each other for her to bring him something yummy when he's laid up. And you could see he appreciated the gesture. As to the childhood memories, that's a very interesting question but they weren't really in a situation to talk about memories. It would be good if your idea happens, though, and Three and Five get to talking about what happened and memories it might have brought up.

Three knows that Five spent time living as his younger self, Titch. When he pays back his loan she mentions it.

reply

Okay. Still, it would be interesting if this incident gets Three and Five talking about his younger self, especially in light of what happened with Ryo.

Not just Three and Five but Five and everybody. Perhaps if Five spent more time living as her crew mates Ryo's actions wouldn't have surprised her. She has a wealth of information and insight she's afraid to access.

reply

Five was avoiding Ryo as soon as she found out he got his memories back. Too bad, because Ryo was avoiding Three, and if Five and Three had compared notes, they might have been a lot more cautious about going to retrieve Ryo. I hope Android has orders not to surrender the blink drive.

Yeah, that's the best relationship of the show by far. It reminds me of the Firefly pilot, when Jayne was teasing Kaylee at the dinner table earlier but was going to kill the man who shot her just a couple of hours later.

It was also nice to see Three get to show off why he was such a feared criminal in the first place, too. There hasn't been enough of that this season until the last couple of episodes.

reply

That was an incredible scene when Three kicked in the door and just took out all those guys before they had time to react with more than a stupid look. And then he went all warm and fuzzy admitting he was a little scared. If only he had remembered there was a fifth brother! That was a good bit of writing, though, because it really showed how shaken he was by Five's kidnapping. He was so relieved to find her he forgot there was still a threat out there.
