Definitely Dark Matters over Killjoys... crew wise.

Following both TV shows, this second season of DM really gives me a better feeling than KJ. I love the old SF style, characters seem to get along better (smell a bit more like the reference of crew perfect chemistry - Firefly-).
KJ is ok (actually a bit too hype - they try too much to be cool) but even in the 9th episode of this new season, the feeling is still off, there is no real attachment to the characters, no real chemistry between them... both shows are still far from Firefly`s crew perfection but at least DM matures a bit better... let`s hope they won't cancel it too soon.

Everytime Killjoys try to be cool (and they try a lot) it just is emberassing. DM is actually cool. They have those funny moments that come very naturally. Killjoys tries to be funny but fails everytime...
Also Killjoys always forces those deep conections with a lot of history between characters on us. Which always seems...well forced. As DM cleaned the slate with wiped characters that had no connection at all, and built it up from scratch. Feels more natural and believeable.

Dark Matter is so much better than Killjoys...

To each their own. I prefer Killjoys myself, but I'm glad they're both renewed.

Why do you prefer Killjoys? When both shows first started I dropped Killjoys quickly but I am curious how it has progressed.

I just like the fun, campy, even cheesy atmosphere of Killjoys. It's progressed well, though. I think the world-building was lacking a bit in the first season, but it really coalesced into two main storylines with some seriously entertaining villains in the second season.

I think Dark Matter went too much in the opposite direction. The first season was really tightly focused with great interactions between the crew, but the second season has shot threads all over the place while I think the dynamic of the crew has changed.

With the Dark Matter crew, they're written as if anyone of them could be the star of the show. Love that.:)
