What happened to One

I apologize in advance if it was already asked, but why wasn't he a more prominent character in season two, since he had pretty much the leading role in season one? Did they drop the character, or did the actor drop the role? Or something else?

reply

I take it that something must have happened with Marc's situation on set, between him and the other actors, writers or directors, since they killed him off twice and leaving the plotlines around him untold

reply

One of the executive producers, Jay Firestone, said Marc did nothing wrong and it wasn't personal. Someone needed to die, which they passed by the Network, and One was the clear easiest since the producers and/or writers felt he never really fit in with the rest of the crew.

You Say... Someone needed to die, which they passed by the Network, and One was the clear easiest since the producers and/or writers felt he never really fit in with the rest of the crew.

Did they say why someone had to die, That statement doesn't fit well with what has happened with the guy whom helped them escape prison, the doctor, and Nix. So you kill off a great character to a lot of viewers only to replace him with characters whom you kill off as well. He fit as well as they wanted him to. he was past his wife death and was a good counter to them toeing the line. Actually the series seemed to drift a little without him especially the series finale.

I think they made the best decision killing One off. Out of all the characters on the Raza he was my least favourite and while I had nothing against the actor I thought they were going to get rid of Six and am glad they kept him over One 'cause I find him to be a more interesting character. One's death wasn't as controversial as some people are making out now and I remember a LOT of people on this board didn't like him during Season One.

His death was nowhere near as bad as Ashley's in Sanctuary.

Oh it definitely bothered some people and even most of the cast seemed initially shaken by it. As much as people and his character's detractors try to deny or downplay it, it was a big and significant deal. Find it interesting they keep him bringing him back as Jake Corso without really giving him much to do.

reply

Yea, I was sorry to see him go as well. I was kind of hoping to find that he lived through his assassination, but I guess he and Jace are both dead.

It's the problem with being the "moral center" of any group (like the Walking Dead), when you're the moral center of the group, they kill you off .

reply

I really hate they killed off One. He was the first to wake up and he's definitely left a hole in the crew.

It wasn't problems with the actors, they all said they loved Marc at DragonCon and they were sad to see him go. It was explained to me by someone, that his death was necessary to be the catalyst for the Galactic Corporation War, but I honestly don't think that was required.

I'm telling you, it the Lando!
