Emily invents a time machine decades in the future and goes back in time to change history.
Emily puts their memories into new bodies, but have to explain everything that has happened afterwards in graphic detail.

You keep forgetting that we see several escape pods before the final explosion and we saw some of the characters apparently being assisted in their escape. I'm not saying you're wrong but I seriously doubt it.
shareTwo's 'new' nanites will save her, three likely got carried off at the final moment, four escaped, the Android and five are safe, six is the one who's in real perril.

It is very very rare for these writers to kill a main character unless an actor decides to leave the show.
I might be showing my age here but how many times did Daniel die in SG1? Or Weir on Atlantis? Characters may die on these shows but it is rare for them to stay dead.
Jake has already been "resurrected" twice already...
