Several lives hanging in the balance. Nyx is a goner ( damn that woman was beautiful ) and one of the other members maybe dead too. Looking forward to next year and that preview for The Expanse looked fantastic.

Besides it was predictable as hell that the space station would blow up.
I still think it was a great episode in spite of this, but it would have been so much better without it.

The way i see it that the station explosion was a lock in the fabric of time meaning no matter how hard they tried to save it, it was bound to be destroyed

Just a theory, but worth pointing out, nonetheless.
Game of Thrones' The Winds of Winter is how you do a season finale. That's proven by the critical reception, the 10 rating for that episode on iMDB, and the fact that viewers went crazy with how amazing that episode was. (It also happened to follow probably the most epic episode in TV history, "The Battle of the Bastards")
Dark Matter's "cliffhanger" has no weight to it because we know no one is going to die. They'll kill a few redshirts no one cares about, then everything will return to normal. I bet we find out Nyx was a clone from a transfer pod, so she survives, yadda yadda yadda...
