Interesting nonsensical hypothetical. Please explain more.
shareThey had a great run.. but yeah its probably over now .. not just the virus but bc stuff only lasts about 10y at the top and then ppl get sick of it/move on and EG was like the conclusion so ppl might not be so keen on bothering with more now
shareNot just mcu all the comic stuff. If we just start from Iron man 1 all the way to this year...how many Comic movies and series just between Marvel and DC. Lets not even count cartoons or other non Marvel/DC stuff. There has to be at least 35 films total and 20 tv shows.
shareYeh its possible this pandemic lockdown might have given time to reflect on everything like movies (it has in other areas) so ppl be like do we really want another 10y of nonstop superhero movies? .. also will studios even be able to fund these 250m comic book movies now? and how will they be delivered? will cinemas go back to normal? or will streaming take over? and if so what does that mean for all the superheroes movies? its all uncertain
shareYES...MANY,MANY PEOPLE DO WANT 10 MORE YEARS OF COMIC ACTION...AND WERE GONNA GET IT TOO.
shareI realize this OP is either trolling or just off-putting'ly negative but ...
Yes, I'm kinda glad. "Endgame" was really a banner moment, so to speak. Over a decade building up to it, and what I, at least, viewed as a fully satisfactory conclusion.
I'll keep seeing MCU films as long as they make them, but I'm at best "meh" about "Black Widow," despite being a big fan of ScarJo.
The MCU has also spanned a hugely significant decade in my own life.
I started a side-business when "Iron Man" came out, and I saw it three times in the theaters (something I haven't done since I was in high school)
Over the next eleven years, I expanded that business so much that I stopped being an attorney. I closed that business when I became a full-time judge.
And I became a father.
I can only imagine what it'd be like to be a high school student growing up with the MCU -- not to sound condescending but I don't imagine elementary school kids can attach those films to significant life events the way high school and college students could.
What would it be like, I have to wonder, to have the MCU films span your first kiss, first breakup, or even engagement, marriage and parenthood?
So ... whatever one thinks of the films (and I like them all, though not as great cinema outside of "Winter Soldier" maybe), they achieved something never accomplished before, and stand out for that reason in my life, and I'm guessing many others' lives.
But that only works if there's a clear period at the end of the sentence. "Endgame" provided that.
To be honest, while I enjoyed "Far From Home" just fine, I have to admit it felt tacked on. Like a repeat of a favorite punchline. It diluted the effect. For me at least.
It’s that time again, huh. I mean I got many obvious trolls & red pill propagandists on the be-gone list.. makes it a bit more tolerable to still bother coming to this place... but surely there hasn’t been a big PAY ATTENTION TO ME bait like this in a while on here (nah). As it is, why bother with an obvious troll? 1) I got time to spare 2) ‘Cause many inevitably will, I suppose. And 3) because those legit on the same page as the troll above will show up, so really I’ll be talking to them. At any rate, let’s put some broken record detractors and fascists who naturally stand against all things social justice, scream ThIs Is AnTi-WhItE 24/7, and were always against Captain America as he was the ultimate anti-fascist in their place, hehe.
The Golden Age, over? Well, it’s something of an end of an era. However! Golden Ages can last more than a decade, ya know. ;) But completely over to the extent the MCU will never experience big critical & commercial success again and real audiences (not simply online naysayers) will lose interest though? Gee, you social injustice reactionaries hating on this franchise bigly (and have lost sleep over its dominance) are really, really getting ahead of yourselves. Question: how many times have the detractors/boomers assured everyone that Marvel’s time was over? One too many times. With all the grade-A talent this franchise keeps attracting, all the marvelous diversity that’s coming (yea, cry reactionary chuds), and with no signs of Big Kev losing his mojo, then this franchise’s future is looking pretty strong. So here’s the thing - it ain’t over till it’s over! And if/when the upcoming projects from this non-reich wing and fascist-unfriendly franchise arrive and end up proving many of the lifeless detractors wrong, it’ll be fun to taste those salty red pill/reactionary brigade tears over and over again.
Lol, and acting as if this is the only franchise out there offending your reactionary maga chud sensibilities. Hello! Since apparently you’re not familiar with other boomer/elitist-triggering modern franchises, haven’t you been paying attention to all yer social injustice fools and what they’ve been crying about? They’ll tell you loud and clear that the very-flawed-but-luckily-evolving-entertainment industry is super anti-social injustice (like basically all decent humans are, and fortunately there’s a lot of them). And after recent events, shit is only gonna get WORSE for u super fragile and whiny ass social injustice karens. Even IF this mighty and influential franchise has had its day, the OP and its fellow chuds are GUARANTEED to throw endless reactionary manbaby fits for years to come seeing how many in the industry aren’t looking to appease (and thank fuck don’t agree with) the white privileged-denying social injustice reich no mo’. So, why you celebrating if other franchises and films in general will keep triggering u for similar reasons the MCU did (and will continue to do so)? XD
Real talk — no matter how much you cry to the big bad sjw & woke people (most of whom aren’t obsessed with iDenTiTy PoLiTiCs as much as the reich wing actually is, but they rightfully care about inclusion+human rights+science+justice and want to move past the real straight white dude agenda — the complete opposite of the red pill chuds indeed) about their non-regressive ways, they’re not gonna give you what you desperately cry for. Now it may seem like it given who’s destroying ‘Murica right now, albeit we’re not in yer beloved subservient days anymore. Got it, chud?
Now shoo! Go watch some nonsensical bunker boy drumpf speeches, pop in the maga klan favorite Birth of a Nation (a flick Hollywood took notes from and spent decades making u PC reactionaries happy by always portraying poc as the villains, yet now the white reactionary bros whine excessively over their kind being negatively but ACCURATELY portrayed in media when THEY brag constantly about how much they’re against being on the side of justice like true fascists... LOL), rewatch Passion of the Christ for the thousand time, and pray real hard that this industry goes back to being pro-exclusion, fascist-friendly and will stand for all things injustice like yer fellow reactionary karens do (REEEE). Unfortunately for u karens, truth is you’ll never be content with this industry ever again, so... HA!
What? One too many assumptions did I make? Yeah, reich. NUFF SAID.
Nobody's gonna read all that you colossal saddo.
shareMarvel has set the bar high for Comic Book Movies, the last 10 years has been fantastic , some great movies have been made, End Game, Infinity War , Guardians, Winter Soldier, Avengers, Iron Man , Dr Strange , Thor, Civil War, and then some that arent so great.
Not sure about them being cookie cutter, some of them can be pretty graphic and violent , if we didn't have these movies then we would be left with just the awful and miserable soulless DCEU movies, VIVA Marvel i say , had so much fun watching these movies, and the future looks bright with Eternals and Black widow.
I'll see Black Widow on video. I have no interest in Thor-Girl or the rest of Disney-Marvel's estrogen agenda.
shareLMAO...YOU SHOULD HAVE GREATER RESPECT FOR WOMEN.
shareI have more respect for women than you can know. Thor is not a woman. I respect women enough to treat them as equals and not have to single out the fact that they're women.
shareTHOR IS A WOMAN..FOR A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF TIME...JUST LIKE IN THE FILM,IM SURE.
shareLOL. . .no, Thor is not a woman. Thor is also not a blond space-demigod with wildly fluctuating abilities that are "magic dressed up as science, one and the same." At least he wasn't until. . .wait for it. . .Marvel comics came out w/a series that said he was.
Guess what? A couple years ago, Marvel came out w/another series, that said a chick picked up the hammer, and started calling herself Thor, because she gained all the same abilities.
While I wasn't crazy about the concept, I also wasn't stupid enough to judge it before I read it. (Some of it was cool, some was meh, some was surprisingly good.)
Now Marvel is bringing that story into its cinematic universe. Which gives all thinking people an opportunity to decide if it's a good story or not. . .AFTER watching it.
So. . .yeah. Most of the detractors are knee-jerking their way into an automatic dislike of this movie. Whatever. It'll be a good flick, or it won't. . .Regardless of whether "Thor's a woman."
