Gay guy at the support group

I mean just why? Totally unnecessary, awkward and indulgent. Having the director in an acting role and also playing a gay man......Same with the girl power bit at the end. Stop trying to be liberal and just make good entertainment.

That was a cameo from one of the Russo brothers

Marvel movies are the most popular movies in the world and they want to be seen as inclusive, even though they aren’t (20+ films so far, and only one that’s non-white led and one that’s female led).

Particularly with gay characters ... Marvel will NEVER feature a gay character in a sizeable film role, because China (Marvel’s largest international market) doesn’t allow film releases with gay content.

So this minuscule gay moment (and things like saying Valkyrie is bisexual without showing it) is supposed to appease critics.

It’s just a trick, really. A few minutes of pandering that can easily be scraped out of the film for its release in China.

Yes how dare the filmmakers acknowledge that gay people exist in the world. OUTRAGEOUS I SAY

Why not? There are plenty of gay dudes out there. Why wouldn't some of them be in support groups?

reply

Why not? What if it had been a redheaded man instead, or a left-handed woman? Same thing, right?
