Especially since Taika Waititi won't be directing Asgardians of the Galaxy and Black Widow will probably be postponed and feature a new actress. Or will everything becom de-aged or full CGI actors and actresses now? Anyway it feels like the time to sponsor Disney is over. Lest they become the be-all and whatnot.

Iron Man? Captain America? Thor? Those are the Marvel C-List. No one has even heard of those guys. Spider-Man and the X-Men are the only Marvel heroes anyone knows. Get ready for a quick flop. Robert Downey, Jr.? Come on, he's washed up. Chris Evans is Captain America?? Noooo! He SUCKED as The Human Torch. Why him? This is a joke, right?
We see how it really turned out. But what came next? Guardians of the Galaxy? What the hell is that? They have a tree and a talking raccoon? Get ready for Marvel's first flop!
The bottom line is that even though they were relegated to using only C and D list heroes that the majority of the viewing audience had never heard of prior to seeing their films, Marvel made great films, and that is all that matters. If not, then any film with Batman or Super-Man would always outshine anything Marvel can offer other than Spider-Man, but we've learned that is not even remotely true.
As long as Marvel continues to make excellent films, and they are 22 for 22 at this point, they will continue to dominate at the box office and in the public eye.
I'm not particularly a huge super hero fan but with Iron Man and Captain America (Steve Rogers) and even Black Widow out of the picture the whole franchise feels dimmer to me. I'm not going to be very interested in much of what follows.
I'm sure true Marvel fans will either say invested or argue on the future merits of where everything goes. But not me.
I'll be game for any Guardian of the Galaxy, though, simply because I like them independently of the rest of the franchise.
Well it should feel dimmer. That's just a testement to how great the characters were. The task is now to build a new generation of characters that will be loved(as Starwars utterly failed to do). I think Peter Parker is already there. Doctor Strange is a great character in his own right, but is kind of cool and aloof. Antman is a good character, but kind of comedy relief. Captain Marvel and Black Panther are botj quite boring, unfortunately. I think Fantastic 4 can't come soon enough.
shareI like those characters you mention and most of the "side" characters but I can't see Captain Marvel or Black Panther holding the reins..I like these actors in other things but they don't have the personality or presence of Iron Man or Cap to lead the team ..and it has nothing to do with gender or race.
Those shoes will be hard to fill.
I guess creating interest in their individual films will be the way to go. But I'm just not that interested.
Unfortunately Captain Marvel is alread being pushed to the front of the MCU. A sad day indeed, a one note actress wih zero range. That Justin Beiber haircut for 5 more films is just nauseating to think of.
The MCU will always make money but it won't have that same feel or hype in the new films as it did in the last 10 years. Brie Larson is not in the same league as RDJ.
Don't get me wrong i think individual films will still be good for the most part but the overall strength of the MCU being the Avengers will be seriously diminished now the main cast is leaving.
