Amazon is selling the 3D version for $40.00 US. I never saw it in 3D but I already picked up the Blu-Ray version and am a bit ticked that they no longer offered the Combo pack of 4K, Blu-Ray, 3D, Digital and DVD.
What's the deal just offer it at one time and I'll buy the whole darn thing. Now they're just gouging and double dipping.
After Avengers 4 I feel an extended special edition combo 2 film set coming.
I think that we've had this conversation before, but I bought the Region free 2D/3D Blu-ray combo pack from amazon UK. With shipping and a $2.19 credit that Amazon UK gave me after purchase, total price was $24.06 US. It was released in the UK September 3 and I received it around September 20, I think.
Current price at amazon.co.uk is £18.00 or $23.68 US, shipping will only add a couple of dollars. It's the same Region free disc that they are selling at Amazon.com but cheaper, you'll just have to wait longer for delivery.
And there will never be a special edition extended combo, especially not 3D and not in the USA.
It might have been Black Panther 3D. I bought that and Thor Ragnarok 3D from Amazon UK, and have pre-ordered Ant-Man and the Wasp 3D from there (release date December 3).
Part of the whole 3D viewing option is just me and stubbornness. I bought a 70 in 3D (Samsung) with 4 pair of glasses and gosh darn it I am going to fill up my library with 3D versions of action movies!!
Movie watching is still a group entertainment shared pleasure to me and too often quite a few people are enjoying "Streaming" films on small tablets, phones and PCs as an individual activity. One of the best features of some event films is the so-called visual quality and visual size of the cinematic spectacle.
I can attest to that. I saw it in regular IMAX 2D and Dolby Cinema, but I went to see it several times in IMAX 3D. Needles to say, it looked downright glorious. All the film’s biggest sequences were a sight to behold ! Out of all the MCU films I have seen in IMAX 3D, only Doctor Strange gives Infinity War a run for its money in that department (all those mind-bending visuals are a real trip). But of course, Infinity War was more “titanic” in every way.
While it’s easy to call 3D gimmicky, some films really benefit from this format (as Infinity War did). Especially if it’s in IMAX.
Note that the Amazon UK listing for "Ant-man and the Wasp 3D" currently has it as Region B/2 (not USA compatible) but the picture of the back cover art has the Region Free symbol. Obviously I'm hoping for Region Free (and Thor Ragnarok 3D, Black Panther 3D, and Infinity War 3D are all Region Free).
Ah, that was the one I was unwilling to buy. It's tough on whether or not to trust images, but then again, I've also seen Amazon incorrectly list the regions.
Times like these I wish it was on Ebay so I can tell whether or not I'm looking at a picture of the actual box I'll receive!
