Truly remarkable numbers. So Avengers: IW did it in 11 days while TFA did it in 12 days. This is still without China and the pre-sales are going crazy over there, so expect even more records. Had it actually released in China and Russia than it would've obliterated the record. Currently this is doing everything right to potentially reach $2 billion! Disney/Marvel are going to deliver a 1-2 knockout punch with 2 $600M+ domestic films in the same calendar year. This is from a single sub-studio no less!
1 Buena Vista 31.9% $1,260.1 (3 films)
2 Warner Bros. 12.0% $473.3 (9 films)
3 20th Century Fox 10.3% $406.8 (4 films)
4 Sony / Columbia 10.2% $403.3 (4 films)
5 Universal 9.1% $359.5 (5 films)
6 Paramount 6.0% $235.4 (3 films)
Look at the utter domination. It's actually even worse considering BOM don't update until the actuals are calculated. Can any studio stand up to the might of the mouse this year and put up a decent fight? The other studios need to team up like the Avengers to beat Disney haha.

I think at this point Queen is the only hope....lol
Queens hatred for Disney is so strong, and The Success Disney is having right now is bothering him so much....I think its entirely possible Queen may go on a Suicide mission soon and try to Bomb Disney....
other than queen though...
No at least for the next 15 years I dont see any studio haviing hope...
Disney has the 4 biggest and most successful franchises in hollywood right now in ...
Star Wars
The MCU
Pixar)
and their live action fairytale remakes...
these 4 franchises are going to be putting out 2 to 3 hits a year from each franchise for the next 15 years...
as for AIW....
I've done the math, and IMO its going to finish between 1.650 to 1.780 Billion.....with a long shot at 2 Billion if it explodes in China and has a Furious 7 type run(IMO extremely unlikely)
were not...were celebrating Movies we like doing incredibly well...
no ones really cares which company makes what(Unless your queen, he seems to be absolutely tortured by Disney's Success)
but everyone else likes and follows box office because they enjoy seeing films they love do great at the box office, of course you can love and enjoy films even if they dont do great, But you hope and root for films to do great because box office is imperative for a possible sequel or a Franchise to be started...
I'm a Massive CBM fan....I root for all CBMs to do well at the box office, because I Enjoy seeing Films that I love doing great, but most importantly because I want sequels and as many CBMs has possible...
I especially LOVE Marvel CBMs(Marvel is my favorite between DC and Marvel, I read Marvel comics more than DC)...The MCU and The 19 MCU films are truly a DREAM come true as a Comic book fan and Marvel fan...getting to see Heroes that I've read my entirely life cross over in each others feature films and have solo adventure set in the same universe is truly something that most CBM readers could have never imagined
I love and get great JOY when The MCU films all do great at the box office, because it cements the MCU will continue and Sequels and new Franchise will continue to be introduced
When DC films do good It makes me very happy, because Sequels Will follow...except for The DCEU films, they've reached a point where I can no longer root or be happy in any way about them...WB has absolutely no idea or vision on how to create A Cinematic Universe and has butchered it beyond repair....I now want WB to Reboot, recast, and either start over making solo films again in no shared universe, Or completely restart and reboot A new Cinematic Universe under a completely new staff, writers and bosses...I will then start rooting for all DC films again...
I think the confusion your seeing here is 100% due to queen....No one really cares about which studio makes money....We just know Queen has a weird obsession With Disney, So a few of us users like to talk about and point out how Great Disney is doing because we know it KILLS queen.
While not too often, Universal is really the only studio that one-ups Disney on rare occasion. Marvel and Star Wars aren't fair to go against though. Star Wars had decades of world-building by Lucas, and the MCU has Kevin Feige who is the real superhero of Marvel.
If Disney were to lose Feige, the jig, as they say, would be up for Marvel.
I agree Kevin Fiege is basically everything when it comes to the MCU ....
If I were Disney I would have 1 Rule...
Fiege either Retires, Dies or Works for US.....If at any point he's unhappy or someone wants to hire him for a better or different position somewhere else...We literally double whatever they are offering...
WE make Fiege the Highest paid person working at Disney if we have too....
as for your universal point....again I truly dont care which studios make what...but because I hate queen and because queen seems to love Universal...I did some research on Universal...
they've had some incredible hits with animation and Their Fast and Furious and Jurassic World Franchises are big Money makers but for me Universal is completely disqualified as in the same league as Disney and The reason why is....
They had some of the Biggest and most disproportionate flops I've ever seen.... and A ton of them...They have flops where they spent 150 to 170 Million dollars and the film didnt even make 150 Million total...
I MURDERED queen in a thread awhile back where he asked me to look into Universal and see all their hits and I came back with like 25 flops in the last 8 years and 10 had been flops where they lost at least 100 Million +
but your not wrong and you said it correctly, there have been a few times when Universal beat Disney, F7 beat AOU...JW too....
I respect you said it the way it was, queen would have intentionally Lied and exaggerated
Now, do we get anything out of this? Well, for those of us who love what these franchises have to offer, at the end of the day we can sure expect to see more of them. And in the MCU’s case, our excitement grows with every movie; there are only more great (dare I say better?) things to come.
Btw looking at how many detractors Marvel/Disney’s success has created, I have to say that I happily root for these big studios they intensely hate that much more.
