Ozymandias like Thanos wanted to commit genocide to help out the world/universe. Both movies end with the villain winning.
shareHaha I thought that too, identical motives for the villain. They kept saying that Thanos is your reckoning which will be your salvation, reminded me so much of Mass Effect 3 and the reapers motives also!
shareOzymandias wanted to destroy a city in order to prevent nuclear war. Thanos wanted to wipe out half the population due to overpopulation. The motives were quite a bit different, although there are similarities.
Thanos has been around longer than Ozymandias, although the stories this movie is based on were published after Watchmen. Thanos had different motives in the comics, though.

However, didn't Rorschach kinda win in the end, though? But yeah, I get your drift - there's certainly some similarities with performing atrocities for the greater good.
